Nigerians without internet-enabled phones can access eNaira – CBN

  Nigerians without internet-enabled phones will be able to access and transact with the eNaira, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria The CBN revealed this in a  document  titled “Design paper for the eNaira.” Ultimately, eNaira’s usability would definitely improve as Nigerians would be able to transact without   subscribing to data or have an internet enable phone. CBN said, “The eNaira thus risks further alienating sections of the population who are uneducated, lack exposure and access to internet services or digital devices,”. The Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP),  congress , has been suspended State Congress Electoral Committee, Chairman, Engr. Benson Abounu, announced the suspension. The congress was holding today, when the tension of the past few weeks peaked.   A source told Vanguard that it had to be cancelled as thugs invaded the Tafawa Balewa Square venue with weapons, and fights broke out. “Their intention was to rig,” the source said. “It became very obvious that there would be over-voting and that the venue had been infiltrated. “What I saw was terrible. There were even gunshots,” the source added.

Brighton and Hove Albion's match against Arsenal will have to be rescheduled after the Gunners confirmed that Mikel Arteta had contracted coronavirus Arsenal's Premier League match with Brighton and Hove Albion has been postponed after Mikel Arteta tested positive for coronavirus. More than 50 members of staff have self-isolated following his diagnosis. A quarantine period of 14 days will now follow, with two fixtures falling within that period - the match against Brighton and an FA Cup fixture with Sheffield United.
