APC suspension: Oshiomhole finally opens up, says his enemies are not from Edo
The national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has broken his silence on attempts to suspend him from office.
The Nation reports that he blamed his recent travails on some chieftains of the party outside his state.
Information gathered that Oshiomhole spoke to State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on the evening of Thursday, March 5, at the Presidential Villa, hours after a Federal High Court in Kano gave a restraining order in his favour.
The APC Chairman declared only God can determine for how long he would lead the party.
Meanwhile, a Federal High court sitting in Kano dismissed the ruling of another court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja which suspended Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Wednesday, March 4.
It was reported that the ruling which was delivered by Justice A Lewis-Allagoa directed all the parties in the suit to maintain status quo pending the hearing on the motion on notice filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman. Delivering his judgement on Thursday, March 5, Justice Lewis-Allagoa restrained the APC from recognising anyone apart from Oshiomhole as its national chairman. In another report, the removal of Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the APC by a pronouncement of the Federal High Court in Abuja threw up a leadership challenge in the party.
It was gathered that the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, whose approval as deputy national chairman of the APC was announced on Wednesday, March 4, may emerge as acting chairman. Those pushing for Ajimobi's emergence are relying on the APC constitution which stipulates that the deputy national chairman, south should assume the exalted office of chairman of the party in an acting capacity if there is a leadership vacuum.
