Odion Ighalo presents MOTM Award to Shaw after United's win over Derby
- Odion Ighalo gave teammate Luke Shaw the Man of the Match after United's 3-0 win over Derby
- Both Manchester United players were on the scoresheet in that match, with Shaw scoring first
- United will now take on Man City in the much anticipated derby of the season at Old Trafford
Odion Ighalo's performance against Derby County in the FA Cup did not go unnoticed as he was given the honour to the present the Man of the Match Award to Luke Shaw, cited on Daily Star and Twitter.
The 30-year-old hilariously snubbed a handshake from Shaw as the defender was handed the man of the match award.
Man United made it through into the quarter finals of the oldest Cup competition in football's history when they defeated the Rams by 3-0.
Shaw's volley gave goalkeeper Kelle Roos no chance after consecutive attempts by Jesse Lingrad and Bruno Fernandes were blocked by his defenders.
Despite scoring a brace to seal the win for the Red Devils, Shaw was handed the best player of the match award over Ighalo.
The England international had a 91 percent passing accuracy and completed 21 passes in the final third as well as making two dribbles.
Shaw earned a yellow card for a tackle on Louis Sibley but had two shots on target which one of them resulted in a goal.
But Ighalo made the headlines and proved doubters wrong once again as he extended United's lead in the 41st minute after breaking through two defenders before picking his spot.
The Nigerian striker then showed is mental alertness in front of goal for the Red Devils' third, after his left foot shot went into the roof of the net from his second attempt on goal.
All is now set for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to take on Man City in the local derby at Old Trafford on March 8, 2020.
The Red Devils will be aiming to do the double over their city rivals after the December 2019, fixture ended in a 2-1 win at the Etihad.
Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo's future at Old Trafford could be extended as Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer describes his presence in his team as breath of fresh air.
The Nigerian striker has made an instant impact since joining the Red Devils on the last of the January window.
The 30-year-old made his debut in the last few minutes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and forced a save from Willy Caballero.
